Misk commissions Vindico Retail for Misk City guidelines and fit-out manual

Misk City is the Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City, a campus of about 3.4 square kilometres in Riyadh's Irqah district beside Wadi Hanifa, and the home of the Misk Foundation.

Misk has appointed Vindico Retail to prepare two documents for it: the architecture and technical guidelines, and a fit-out manual for retail and office space. Between them they set what tenants and their designers can build and how they must build it.

A campus that mixes offices, retail and public space can only hold one standard if the rules are written down once. That is the job of the guidelines, and it is the point at which a property starts to control its own quality.

A campus with offices, public space and retail has several kinds of occupier. One manual for all of them is the only way to keep a single standard. The documents are designed as live documents: the benchmark for every tenant submission, and the link between the lease deal and the design review and delivery that follow. Tenants know what will be approved before they design.
