Dubai International Concourse D has opened, with all of its food and beverage operations trading from the first day. Concourse D lifts capacity at the airport to 90 million passengers.

The commercial environment plays a critical role in forging a world-class passenger experience. Accordingly, we carefully selected partners proposing universally-recognised, high-quality brands that fit within our strategic framework. We also sought to raise the bar with regards to innovation, product range, and individual design and fitout standards. It was a complex project and we were happy to have Vindico's support in helping our concessionaires through the opening process.

The line-up includes The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, the region's first Pret A Manger, Giraffe, Yo! Sushi, The Draft House Sports Bar & Canteen, CNN Traveller Café, Camden Food Company, Shawarmanji, Taqado Mexican Kitchen, McDonald's, Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Caviar House & Prunier, Krispy Kreme and The Noodle House.

Emirates Leisure Retail opened seven outlets. Its Chief Commercial Officer, Kevin Zajax, describes the working relationship as collaborative, with both sides focused on the same outcome — the best creative and technical design solutions, delivered in time to open and serve customers.

Vindico Retail provided Dubai Airports with retail delivery strategy, design and management through an embedded on-site team supported by the Dubai studio. The studio created the terminal's design guide, technical criteria and space drawings for concessionaires, and the team managed the interface between concessionaires and the commercial, construction and operational readiness groups. Alongside the food and beverage units, Vindico coordinated the opening of five airline lounges, a staff dining facility and five retail and services units.

Richard Kim, Managing Director, notes that having supported retail delivery on Dubai Airports' development projects since 2012, Vindico's attention is shifting to the active management of retail space in operational terminals.

Vindico's role covered retail delivery strategy, design and management. Each outlet was fitted out by its concessionaire and their contractors.
