Al Maryah Central's building momentum for opening

Al Maryah Central has obtained its Building Certificate, marking the completion of base building construction and the transition into tenant fit-out, ahead of a scheduled opening on 29 August 2019. The 2.8 million square foot development will hold over 545 shops and restaurants.

Efficient design review takes time and frustration out of the front end of the process, but large projects typically throw up problems when tenant fit-out and base building teams share a site in the run-up to opening. With construction complete, brands and their contractors can plan more predictable fit-out programmes — and authority approvals that depend on building completion can be processed more efficiently.

Vindico has worked with Gulf Related since 2011, having delivered the retail at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, which will connect to Al Maryah Central. Paul Mathews, Director of Retail Delivery, says that seven years of working with the client's design, construction, leasing and management teams, combined with the firm's relationships across the region's retail and foodservice brands, is what the team brings to giving Al Maryah Central's customers what they come for on opening day.
