Vindico Retail and The Design Solution codeshare in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Airports appointed a Vindico Retail and Design Solution joint venture as commercial consultant to the Midfield Terminal project.
A joint venture between Vindico Retail and The Design Solution, airport retail planners and designers, has been appointed by Abu Dhabi Airports Company as one of two commercial consultants to the Midfield Terminal project.
The terminal is a pillar of Abu Dhabi's 2030 master plan and among the world's most significant airport projects, due to open in mid-2017 as the home of Etihad Airways with capacity for over 40 million passengers a year. The role brings together sector specialists including the San Francisco-based SAP Group, which contributes commercial modelling.
The Design Solution, SAP Group and Vindico Retail are leading specialists in retail planning and design, commercial modelling and delivery respectively, and we look forward to collaborating on this hugely ambitious project.

Row adds that Robbie Gill, Graeme Johns and the team at The Design Solution have worked on over 100 terminals worldwide, and that this global perspective is complemented by Vindico's local record — the firm is currently under contract to deliver over 1,500 retail and restaurant units in Abu Dhabi alone.
Vindico's role in the joint venture covers retail delivery expertise within the commercial consultancy appointment. The terminal is developed by Abu Dhabi Airports Company and built by its contractors.
