Vindico Retail has been appointed by JM Baxi Group to provide design, delivery and lease drawings for the retail and dining space at Ballard Pier, Mumbai's international cruise terminal.
The Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Ballard Pier is India's first international cruise terminal. It is a 415,000 square foot building, run by Ballard Pier Port Private Limited and J M Baxi & Co. under a 30-year concession, with nearly 200,000 square feet set aside for retail, leisure and dining.
JM Baxi Group has appointed Vindico Retail to design, manage and oversee the fit-out of that retail and dining space, to produce its lease outline drawings, and to write its design guide.
A waterfront terminal that is busy only when ships dock has to draw people in between. The retail and dining has to do that work, and it starts with the standard set for tenants.
Peter Row, Founding Director
A terminal retail space has two audiences, passengers on a ship's schedule and local visitors, and its tenants need a design standard that serves both.
This is a project where drawings, guidelines and delivery come from one team. That means a tenant meets one standard from lease to opening.
Paul Mathews, Chief Operating Officer
Vindico's role is the retail and dining space: design, management and coordination, fit-out oversight, lease outline drawings and the design guide. The terminal itself and its operation sit with the concession holders.
