AECOM commissions Vindico Retail for Edamah's Bilaj Al Jazayer
AECOM has appointed Vindico Retail to prepare the tenant design guidelines and lease outline drawings for Bilaj Al Jazayer in Bahrain, a project of Edamah.
Bilaj Al Jazayer is a coastal destination in Bahrain being developed by Edamah, a Bahrain real estate developer. The first phase of works, a beach upgrade covering more than 80,000 square metres, includes food and retail.
AECOM, working for Edamah, appointed Vindico Retail to prepare the tenant design guidelines and the lease outline drawings for the destination. Vindico has delivered both.
Bahrain is a new market for us, and it came through a consultant. A good guide and accurate lease drawings are the credentials that carry across a border.

The guidelines tell operators what they may build, and the lease outline drawings fix each unit before it is let. Both are needed before the first operator can design. Drawn together, they are designed to stay linked to the lease deal and to the design review and delivery that follow, so a brand opens against what it was told at the start.
